Bethpage's golfing tradition traces its roots to the great depression, becoming a coveted destination for the locals. Initially, a hidden gem close to New York City, it caught the world's attention in 2002 when it hosted the US Open. That year, only Tiger Woods finished the week under par.

However, for those aiming for exclusivity, Long Island houses some of America's elite courses like Shinnecock Hills and Friar’s Head, though getting in might require some connections.
