The four on-site restaurants include the new K Thai Restaurant, which serves Thai and Asian cuisine, Legends Restaurant, a bistro restaurant serving a range of European dishes and the River Room Restaurant, which is a fine-dining restaurant with a traditional menu. Guests can enjoy a drink at the Media Puzzle Bar.
The K Club can provide golf tuition, and many other outdoor activities available include horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, falconry, tennis, archery and fishing. There is also a playground and a kids club.
The K Club is located a 40-minute drive from Dublin Airport and Dublin city centre.
It charms, it entices and invariably, brings out the very best in your game. It is unlikely that you will be asked to tackle the course from the championship tees, but this should in no way diminish the excitement of pitting your wits against Arnold Palmer, for, in a sense, this is precisely what you are about to do.
Ranked regularly in the top 3 parkland golf courses in Ireland, this Arnold Palmer designed golf haven is a must play ‘badge of honour’ that has hosted the top golf players in the world.
The Ryder Cup in 2006, the 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open where we saw Rory McIlroy’s European Tour Shot of the Year and 11 European Opens testify the importance of The Ryder Cup Course to European Golf.
The best way to describe the Arnold Palmer designed Smurfit Course at The K Club is that of an inland links course. However, its true attributes do not stop there. The course has many dramatic landscapes with dune style mounding throughout. This assists in making the course into a true Championship Golf Course with many vantage points for spectators to view golf professionals at work.
This course has played host to some of golf’s most exciting moments. Who could forget the excitement of the 2004 Smurfit European Open when Retief Goosen went on to win just two weeks after taking his second US Open title? Or the closing stages of the 2007 Smurfit European Open, when Colin Montgomerie finally ended his 18-month drought without a trophy and somehow stayed out of the water on the 18th to win the 2007 European Open by just one shot?
