This gently undulating 18 hole par 72 course blends seamlessly into the stunning Algarvean landscape and offers a challenge that will get the attention of golfers of all abilities. The total yardage of just over 6,400 yards is healthy enough to challenge more experienced players while multiple sets of tees allow those who are less prodigious off the tee to still enjoy the course.
As with any good golf course though, the length is not the main obstacle to a good score. Sweeping undulations, natural lakes and streams and an abundance of natural fauna encourage golfers to think their way around the course and the slick greens will also test your concentration from start to finish. Espiche Golf is surrounded by open countryside and with views of nearby vineyards and the not too distant Monchique Mountains, it is a truly inspiring place to play golf.
Although currently in the final stages of construction, Espiche Golf will boasts an outstanding clubhouse before too long. Palmares Golf
Within the natural amphitheatre of the Bay of Lagos, Robert Trent Jones II has fashioned Europe’s next great golf course, Onyria Palmares Golf. The brief given to this exceptional American golf course designer was to craft a 27-hole golf course which maximized the potential of its extraordinary environment. The result is a golf course of breathtaking natural beauty which is a delight to play. The course opened 18 holes for play in October 2010 and the full 27 last June 2011 and it has matured nicely.
Robert Trent Jones II designed the golf course with the highest level of international tournament golf in mind as well as a pleasurable golf experience for members and tourists alike. There is plenty of challenge if that’s what you want – especially from the white tees! Onyria Palmares Golf is composed of three returning nine-hole loops that can be played in any sequence. The genius in the routing is that, depending on the sequence of play, each golf experience is different. Each nine-hole loop – Alvor, Lagos, and Praia - has its own character and ambiance.
