Our Pick
Hidden in the suburbs of Sas Al Nakhl, our golf travel experts recommend Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort and Spa. Perfectly situated to enjoy the city and also the space, this resort is luxury personified. The course is on of the best golf courses in Abu Dhabi, and plays host to the international HSBC Golf Championship every year. What’s more, every room has a floor to ceiling window that opens onto the course, meaning that on or off the course, you can keep an eye on your game!
Off the Course
For a truly spectacular cultural sight and experience, we recommend a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. No Emirates golf holiday can be complete without a trip to the largest mosque in the country: during Eid it can be visited by over 41,000 people! For something beautiful and incongruous, try the ‘Garden City’ of Al Ain - a network of oases that form a Unesco-recognised cultural site, Al Ain is a short drive from the city, and is home to some truly gorgeous gardens.
In the summer, temperatures in Abu Dhabi can reach highs of a whopping 48°C. We therefore highly recommend golfing in Abu Dhabi in the shoulder seasons: April to may, or september to october. These months provide pleasant weather, manageable crowds and reasonable rates. For the best weather (not too hot or humid) we recommend visiting in the winter, between December and March.
