The City of Newcastle Golf Club was founded in 1891, a traditional green with a great history. Designed by renowned professional golfer, Harry Vardon, but was then redesigned in 1962. Despite the revamp, much of Vardon’s influence still embodies the course and is regarded as one of the best greens in the North East, making it one of the chosen courses to host many county events.

Gosforth Golf Club was established in 1906, originally just a 9-hole course but has now been extended to 18 holes and remodeled.
