Portugal
Portugal boasts stunning atlantic beaches lined with villas, bars, restaurants and (of course) some of the best golf courses in Europe. Our pick in the north is Praia D’El Rey, 1 hour northwest along the coast from the custard tarts and architecture of Lisbon, and not far from the stunning walled hilltop town of Obidos. The course is a beautiful mixture of lush vegetation, beachy sand dunes, and links-style challenges.
Spain
Just next door lies Spain, home to some of Europe’s top golf courses: with over 500 courses in just one country, a golf break to Spain is an affordable classic, and some may argue that it is the original and best European destination.
